7 Reasons Why Do People Like Hiking?
To start hiking, all you need to do is to pick a spot near you or somewhere close by. Bring food, water, a map (just in case), and consider bringing a cell phone with GPS capabilities just in case things go wrong. You’ll want comfortable shoes as well because this might take all day depending on where you are going. If there’s streams along the way then also bring your fishing gear/pole if that’s something you enjoy doing while out here. Pack up snacks for lunch time too.
Some people have a desire to be outside. Others are looking for an escape from their normal routine, and others may just find the hikes rewarding because they get in shape or like being active. Whatever your reason is, we’ve got some good reasons why hiking should be on your list of favorite things to do!
Below I will be sharing my 7 reasons as to why do people like hiking and why some people have converted into their life long habit:
Hiking is a great way to get exercise
Hiking is a great way to get exercise, without the pounding of running on pavement. It’s good for your mental health, and it can be done with friends or solo–so you don’t have an excuse if you’re busy. Hiking requires little equipment: just a pair of shoes that fit well enough to hike in! And best yet? With hiking being so gentle on the body (compared to other exercises), there are very few limitations as far as how often someone should do this activity. These are some reasons why people like me love hiking!
It’s good for your mental health
It’s good for your physical fitness. You get plenty of exercise while hiking, which is great if you’re trying to lose weight and stay healthy! And there are studies that show how the natural environment can be really beneficial in reducing stress levels. Who doesn’t want less stress? It also feels very rewarding when it starts to feel challenging – it makes people like me love doing this activity even more than we already do. Hiking has a lot going for it: mental health benefits, increased physical fitness, reduced risk of heart disease/diabetes, lower blood pressure… what else could anyone ask for?
Aside from that, it’s a great way to get some exercise and spend time with nature.
Hiking is also an amazing form of meditation without all the stress associated with yoga or deep breathing exercises (e.g., no one judging you for not being able to do certain poses). You can just enjoy the outdoors while walking through previously untouched terrain on your own terms – sometimes at a leisurely pace, but other times more briskly depending on how adventurous/competitive you’re feeling.
Hiking has been shown to have many mental health benefits as well, such as reducing anxiety levels and improving mood overall by providing plenty of fresh air and natural light exposure
You can see beautiful scenery and take in the fresh air
You get to see wildlife that may not be in your backyard. Exploring the great outdoors is a wonderful way of connecting with nature and enjoying what it has to offer. The best part about hiking for me, however, is the challenge aspect- there are some really tough hikes out there! It takes determination and mental fortitude which I love having tested periodically. If you’re trying to find something new to do this weekend or any time soon, take up hiking!
This makes me feel good: Hiking provides an increased sense of accomplishment when done correctly because you must conquer obstacles such as narrow paths (sometimes on steep inclines), low visibility due to trees blocking sunlight, difficult terrain like slippery rocks or tree roots, and more
Meet New People
I’ve always been a fan of hiking. Hiking is a great way to get outside and see some nature, which has many benefits (e.g., reducing stress levels). It can also be really challenging at times as well, which is why people like me love it so much! There are many opportunities to meet new people while hiking, which makes it an enjoyable social activity as well as a physical one. “
Hiking is a relatively inexpensive hobby
Hiking is inexpensive When you think about it, hiking doesn’t cost a lot. Sure if you want to go on an expensive guided hike then yes, but for the most part all hikers need are some good shoes and maybe a small backpack that they can fill with water, snacks and other necessities. Hikers will also be able to use maps of the area as well in order to get around more easily.
There’s no such thing as bad weather when there’s hiking involved Weather isn’t something that should ever stop people from going out and exploring nature because there really is no such thing as bad weather when there’s hiking involved! The best possible kind of day for hiking would be one where rain clouds come rolling in —
